Simon Fawcett, Central Support Manager at leading retailer Argos, discovered Kennedy whilst searching for a unique corporate entertainer for the company’s forthcoming Senior Manager’s Conference.
Simon was looking for someone different to the normal after dinner entertainer or motivational speaker that they’d used in the past. The event was going to be attended by Argos’ Retail Operations Director and many of their Area Managers from across the country, so he needed to be sure that the entertainer he chose would be suitable.
“I found Kennedy on Google. I thought his website was very good, with a lot of useful information; testimonials from well known brands and video clips. I asked my Senior Manager for his opinion, and he agreed that Kennedy would be perfect for our event.” Said Simon.
Argos holds three annual Senior Manager Events a year where the team get together and share best practice. As the event was going to be held towards the end of the year, they wanted it to be extra special, and to be a celebration of the company’s success and a way of saying “thank you” to the team.
“I was surprised when I met Kennedy! He was just a normal down to earth guy – not what you’d expect a mind reader to be at all.”
“When he was on stage he completely put people at ease. He was engaging, funny, and his show was totally different to anything we’d seen before. With just the right level of humour and some unbelievable mind reading, he made a great impression with everyone.
“The event was a complete triumph, and because Kennedy’s show was so different, it helped us to reinforce and celebrate our company’s success. We had so many positive comments after the show; people felt appreciated and it was a great ice-breaker to bring people together – I’d even go so far as to say it was a great way to foster team spirit. People are still talking about Kennedy’s show months after the event. We’d definitely invite him back to entertain us again.”
Since the show the HR Director of Argos has hired Kennedy to speak at another Argos Managers Conference.
