I promised that when I got to 1,500 followers on Twitter I'd share a trick with you. No one else knows about this secret page and it is not accessable from the main website.
While it might take a good amount of study to learn to influence people and read them for real, here is a short-cut magic trick that looks like you're doing something similar.
Body language is something of a fascinating art. Our minds and bodies are united beyond doubt. If as a child place our hand in to the flame of a flickering candle and it burns, this is a physical response. The fact that we never do that again, due to learning that important lesson is an intellectual or mental response. The same can be said of the opposite, if we think something then some how, some way our body will respond to it.
The Deception
This really does look like real body language reading. Handing your friend one of your favourite chocolates (any routine where I can find an excuse to use chocolate I will do) you turn away and have him decide which of his hands he is going to hide it in.
He is to transfer some of his mental energy from his mid in to that hand, it's a great distance for him right now so you have him place that hand against his forehead and concentrate for just a moment. The he is to place both hands out in front of himself and look straight ahead.
Upon turning around you ask him to try and keep a poker-face and not to give anything away. Although his efforts are made in vein as you tell him exactly which hand the chocolate is in, take it from him and eat it right in front of his face. What a nice friend you are.
This really looks amazing and incredibly close to real body language reading. Of course it isn't and there is a method at work here.
The Trick
I first wrote about this for a woman's magazine a few years ago when I was asked to give some insight in to what NLP is. They asked me for a trick that I could teach the readers and this was it.
There is not a great deal to this in all honesty. You take any small object that will fit in to your friend's hand and use it. I like the chocolate as it gives a great moment of satisfaction as you eat it in the end.
So, turned away you instruct your friend to select either of his hands to conceal the chocolate in (make it a wrapped chocolate or else you risk having melted chocolate all over your friend and you'll be forced to lick it off...eeew).
Now is the important bit. You say that you want them to transfer some mental energy from their mind in to the chocolate to help you out. So they are to raise the hand containing the chocolate and hold it to their forehead, concentrating on the chocolate.
Now if they put their two hands out in front of themselves after having done this you will notice that the hand with the chocolate in it, the one they held to their forehead is paler than the other hand.
The reason for this is physiological. When your friend is looking like a fool, holding their hand to their forehead the blood is draining out of their hand due to its elevated position. So this makes the skin appear paler.
