It’s the small things that make the big difference. You hardly feel the pitter-patter of a snowflake, but together they create an avalanche which you’d probably pay more attention to.
Event planners know it’s the same deal with the small details of a successful event.
One such ‘small thing’ is the canapés.
Most people are totally over the pre-drink salmon and cheese on crackers served by hot girls (the salmon can go, the hot girls stay!). So what’s next.
Since entertaining is pretty much about entertainment and food – let’s extend the culinary experience to after dinner food.
Food after food? You bet!
At a recent event, the big talking point (apart from my “amazing” performance 😉 ) was the after dinner canapés.
Everyone has stuffed their faces with gorgeous lamb and beef, lobster tail or whatever, then the after dinner entertainment commences. Everyone enjoys themselves and then the dancing starts, right?
So now, what if just now you surprise your guests with canapés at this point?
And what if the canapés were ‘drunk person food’? Like slices of pizza and spring rolls – maybe leave the donna kebab on this one, but you get the drift.
It’s a brilliant way of adding a little something different to the event so people remember it.
If you know any events people, let them know about this and we’ll hopefully get a trend started. Also, let me know (by commenting below) what kinds of cool foods you’ve had at the events you’ve been to. I’d be fascinated to read about more cool ideas.
